Types of individual health insurance

The BUPA Worldwide plan is a comprehensive package of In-patient and Day-patient core benefit with Out-patient, Pregnancy and Childbirth, Dental, Evacuation and Repatriation as optional benefits. The annual overall sum insured limit is €1,875,000 per person per year.

Inpatient – for hospital treatment and overnight stays plus related benefits whether in an emergency or a planned visit. Surgery, cancer treatment and advanced imaging are also included.

Outpatient – for specialist treatment where there is no need to stay in hospital, and covers consultations and medical treatments that may take place before or after a hospital stay for instance.

Emergency – for evacuation to the nearest suitable medical centre with reasonable transport costs covered, and for repatriation allowing you to return your home country to be treated in more familiar surroundings.
