As real as it can be, this medical condition is defined as a constant state of exhaust and fatigue caused by season changing. Along with fatigue, asthenia can also be accompanied by melancholy states or, in some cases, mild depression.
According to doctors, seasonal asthenia usually affects women and can be caused by the fact that our body is unable to adapt to a new environment. Moreover, asthenia may also be due to hormonal changes and poor diet choices that lack the vitamins and minerals we need.
Although it can be easily mistaken for depression, seasonal asthenia has its own specific symptoms that can help us identify and prevent it. The easiest way to influence spring asthenia is our diet plan – this should include foods high in vitamin C and E, magnesium, iron and calcium. Therefore, a spring diet should include raw fruits and vegetables, nuts such as peanuts or almonds, fish and seafood, as well as a balanced dose of dairy products.
Also, try to stay well hydrated and replace coffee with green or ginseng tea, in order to stimulate vitality and reduce stress.
