Vaping devices – sources of severe pulmonary diseases

News

Electronic cigarettes are more and more popular in our country, being considered a healthy alternative to tobacco cigarettes. However, the use thereof is opposed to directives of public health institutions, which state that these are harmful devices.

A great number of studies made by Western countries offer conclusive evidence as to the harmful aspect of electronic cigarettes. The extended use of electronic smoking devices may result into pulmonary diseases similar to the exposure to toxic gases, and affected persons may need hospitalization for a very long time.

Even if promoted as a non-harmful alternative to smoking for the body, e-cigarettes have negative impact on health, comparable to classic cigarettes. In this context, smokers must pay attention to prevention medicine to be able to counter possible diseases caused by the substances in electronic cigarettes.

A private medical insurance would be an efficient instrument to cover the costs of preventive investigations and offer to the beneficiary the possibility to select the doctor and medical unit for treatment.

We can see that the electronic cigarettes market has developed, people becoming more attracted to such devices. However, according to the most recent studies published in Western countries, we can observe that conclusions are more than alarming, proving the fact that electronic smoking devices can be extremely harmful. Under these circumstances, prevention is essential to avoid the occurrence of severe diseases. Medical examinations are one of the best methods to keep clear track of health, and costs thereof can be covered by a private health insurance, says Elena Ciobanu, Operational Manager of MediHelpInternațional.

Some of the greatest dangers of vaping devices is represented by their ability to draw the young segment of people, especially teenagers. In Western countries, e-cigarettes have drawn a huge number of youths, who, by that moment, had not smoked. Thus, the exposure to nicotine through electronic devices enhances the possibility that more and more youths become smokers of classic cigarettes in the future, developing an addiction to nicotine.

It is true that one of the most alarming trends is the popularity of vaping devices among youths. Studies made by medical institutions abroad point out an ascending trend of nicotine consumption by youths. And this happens when, after severe anti-smoking measures adopted by the government during the past decades, the number of smoking youths had significantly dropped. Such global trend must warn us, Romanians, because youths rapidly adapt to external influences, also says Elena Ciobanu, Operational Manager of MediHelpInternațional.
