Dear Valued Reader,
On behalf of the entire
MediHelp family and with a broken heart, I would like to express our
sadness and astonishment at the tragedy unfolding in Ukraine. There is no
justification for such destruction and crimes – I believe we all agree on that.
In my life I have experienced and
witnessed different aspects of war and military conflict, both from afar and very
close at hand. What is happening in the eastern part of Europe will have far-reaching
consequences socially, economically and mentally throughout the continent and
most likely all over the world. It will most definitely bring changes that at
this moment we cannot even imagine.
For now, however, we are busy doing
all we can to ease the pain. All of us have been involved in helping refugees;
some of us are hosting, some volunteering to coordinate, some offering food and
supplies, some providing medical care. Our employees are finding ways to
help both as members of the MediHelp community and as private individuals.
I would like to say that our social
responsibility has proven to be working and valid both in the most severe
periods of the Covid-19 pandemic and during the current crisis. We have served
the purpose of our existence, namely, to provide healthcare for those people
who do not have access to a national system which is overloaded or has collapsed.
MediHelp sends its warm
appreciation to all the medical teams, regardless of whether they are working in
hospitals, emergency rooms, railway stations or in temporary shelters. We support
and respect all their efforts, and at the same time offer private solutions for
those who want to take responsibility for themselves, for their family and for
their employees.
Let me express my greatest gratitude
to all of you who have understood the essence of being humane, who have looked
for and found ways and means to help, and who continue to support peace and
understanding.
Sincerely,
Sir Zahal Levy
